Dr. Marmaros has a Masters and PhD in mental health counseling with teaching, research, and extensive clinical experience. Her combined training has given her the tools to best determine and implement the appropriate treatment approach based on unique needs.

With specialized training in several evidenced-based treatments, Dr. Marmaros holds expertise in the treatment of a wide range of anxiety disorders. Through the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, Dr. Marmaros is a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) and uses this gold standard treatment to address a variety of psychological concerns. Additionally, Dr. Marmaros is an EMDRIA-trained therapist, with training in Eye Movement Desensitization Processing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma. Dr. Marmaros has completed additional training from Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Academy in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and from the TLC Virtual Training Institute for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), such as trichotillomania.

Her teaching and research experience includes having taught and mentored students and counselors in training at Pace University, in addition to presenting client care and social psychology research at various conferences, including the New York Mental Health Counseling Association (NYMCHA)conference and the Association for Psychological Science (APS) conference.

In addition to seeing clients, adolescents, and young adults in private practice settings in South Florida and New York, she has served as a professional speaker at local schools, agencies, and parent groups on a variety of mental health topics. Dr. Marmaros hopes to continue to spread awareness, knowledge, and guidance both in and outside of the therapy room.
